we did a boat cave tour of penns cave while visiting state college, pennsylvania.  the lake on the other side of the cave had 2 swans that thought our boat motor was another swan.  They chased us around the lake looking for a fight.  allowed me to get pretty close to get this great shot!

Not-so-happy Valley

took a trip out to state college (aka happy valley) to visit family & see the gophers take on the nittany lions.  unfortunately, the gophers didn't perform -- in fact, i'm not even sure they showed up!?  a tough 20-0 loss, snow, rain, cold...  but still had fun with family and enjoyed beaver stadium.

my husband took a hiking "class" this summer (i have a hard time calling it a class because i'm not sure what he really learned).  anyways, i went along on a few hikes and got great shots of some wild flowers.

we wanted outdoor football - green grass, open sky, tailgating, campus surroundings - you can't get all that without the cold.  i knew i'd be pulling out all my layers in november, but october 10th?  give me a break.  but this is minnesota - what more do you expect?

Good Bye Metrodome

i saw the gophers get hammered in their last day at the Dome & witnessed the twins playoff dreams come to a halt courtesy of those damn Yankees we love to hate -- thinking it's time to move on!  Good bye Metrodome, Target Field here we come.  Here's a Thank you from the minnesota twins for an amazing season.

For now, a few final moments under the teflon sky...

not this time, but our turn will come around.  heart over dollars.

Looks like fall...

Taken in my hometown of Glenwood, Minnesota -- an old warehouse building with the moon rising in the background.  Not sure why, but this one really feels like fall to me.

We named her after my alma matter's mascot - Goldy Gopher from the University of Minnesota -- but she's also a gold dog.
