back from hiatus

Well after a 8 month hiatus, I'm back at it.  I'm way behind on editing, but hopefully I'll find time soon to get caught up and some posts in the queue.

I've been working on my editing techniques and have found some new tricks that do wonders with pictures of Ben.  This one is a bit dated (he's 9 months here and 11 months now), but I love the colors and his eyes!

No Gracias

The beaches in Mexico are covered with men, women & children selling everything from jewelry to beach cover ups to massages.  You spend your day politely telling them "No, gracias" although I do usually buy a few things!  This year a gorgeous wooden bowl, a necklace pendant and some earrings.

GREEN!

Finally some green!  We had to go all the way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to see it but it was well worth it!

Into the archives

I should have some new material soon, but in the meantime, I thought I'd go back into the archives and pull out a shot I haven't yet posted.  This one is from the Walker Sculpture Garden.

Littlest Gopher Fan

He spends a lot of time in this MN hat since it's the only one that doesn't fall in his face (he has a tiny head).

Introducing Benjamin Joseph

Well, I'm finally back after a 3 month hiatus!  Benjamin Joseph was born on January 12th weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 21" long.  We're incredibly blessed to have a very happy and healthy little boy!

I have no experience photographing newborns - and man, they are challenging, but I'm having fun experimenting!  He'll likely be the focus of posts given it's too cold and gross for us to venture out too much.  I wish I could have had a spring or summer baby - so much more to do, but you take what you can get and I'm very lucky to have this little man!
