Georges Island, located in Boston Harbor, is one of several islands that make up the Boston Harbor Islands. There are ferries to 2 and the rest are accessible by private boat.
Georges Island is home to Fort Warren, a civil war-era fort, best known for it's granite construction. The island offers great views of Boston and other neighboring islands and the Fort is open for viewing!
The other island accessible by ferry is Spectacle Island. It was previously a garbage dump, but it was capped off with dirt from The Big Dig and converted to a park with walkways and a beach.
